"Base Commander Jamison Williams."  Dean Fairly spoke clearly to the masses gathered the amphitheater that day.  Behind him were Nurse Hatchet, Dean of Admissions Typepress, and Leg 3, Division 17, who had already done their presentation.

A first-year student from Nigeria stood up from her seat with the other new comers and walked onto the stage.

"Come on, Joey!"  Jamie Bell was racing up the stairs (because the teachers at the elevator wouldn't let them go up that way) and trailing after him were his two younger siblings, Cynthia and Joey Bell.

"Come on 'Thia!" Joey yelled after their sister.  The girl quickened her pace almost climbing the stairs on her hands and feet.

Up the winding staircase, and eventually to a door that Jamie promptly swung open.  Finding no one inside the control tower (the teachers had only been at the elevator because there was an observation deck just below the control lab)

A small church in the NOVA-laden city of Port au Prince, Haiti

Walton sang in the choir at his church.  The church was grand and had big stained-glass windows and cushioned pews and the latest earthquake shockers.  It was big and it was grand and it didn't at all clash with its surroundings.

The city was big and it was grand and it was sitting on top of the largest deposit of NOVA crystal in the world.  Because of the 2058 Land Deposit Laws all of the crystal belonged to the people of the area it was contained in, and that meant most of Haiti, but especially Port au Prince.  And
